Ameris Bancorp is a financial holding company whose business is conducted through its wholly owned banking subsidiary, Ameris Bank. The Company operates through four segments, the Banking Division, the Retail Mortgage Division, the Warehouse Lending Division and the SBA Division. The Banking Division offers financial services that include commercial loans, consumer loans, and deposit accounts. The Retail Mortgage Division originates, sells, and services one-to-four family residential mortgage loans. The Warehouse Lending Division originates and services warehouse lines to other businesses that are secured by underlying one-to-four family residential mortgage loans. The SBA Division originates, sells, and services SBA loans. The Banking, Retail Mortgage, Warehouse Lending and SBA Divisions are managed as separate business units because of the different products and services they provide.
