Imperial Oil (also known as Compagnie Petroliere Imperiale) is an integrated energy company. The company operates through three business segments: Upstream, Downstream, and Chemical. The Upstream segment explores and produces crude oil, natural gas, synthetic crude oil, and bitumen. The Downstream segment is responsible for the transportation and refining of crude oil, blending of refined products, and the distribution and marketing of those products. The Chemical segment manufactures petrochemicals.
