Royal Dutch Shell is a group of energy and petrochemical companies. Its operations are divided into four businesses: Upstream, Integrated Gas and New Energies, Downstream, and Projects and Technology. The Upstream Division manages the exploration and extraction of crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. It also markets and transports oil and gas and operates the related delivery infrastructure. The Integrated Gas and New Energies division is engaged in liquefying of natural gas and converting gas to liquids for safe storage and shipping. The Downstream segment is focused on turning crude oil into a range of refined products for domestic, industrial and transport use. The Projects and Technology business is responsible for delivering new development projects and research and development.
