It is organized into 3 reportable segments: Ingalls Shipbuilding ("Ingalls"), Newport News Shipbuilding ("Newport News"), and Technical Solutions. The Ingalls segment is engaged in building amphibious assault and expeditionary warfare ships, as well as fleet of Arleigh Burke class (DDG 51) destroyers. The Newport News segment designs, builds, and refuels nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines. The Technical Solutions segment provides a range of professional services, including fleet support, mission-driven innovative solutions ("MDIS"), nuclear and environmental, and oil and gas services.
