Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) is a consortium of universities and institutions that runs astronomical observatories and telescopes. It manages astronomical Centers for the National Science Foundation (NSF) and NASA. For NSF, AURA operates NOIRLab and the National Solar Observatory (NSO). NOIRLab is a center for ground-based, nighttime optical and infrared astronomy. NSO is a research center for ground-based solar physics. For NASA, AURA manages the Space Telescope Science Institute, a center for NASA’s flagship observatories and an astronomical research center.
