The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) is a mission operations center for observatories and astronomical research centers operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy. It specializes in scientific research in the areas of the solar system, the habitability of exoplanets, the physics of stellar processes, the formation and evolution of galaxies, the demographics and cosmic evolution of black holes, etc. STScI also provides tools for scientific discovery and an astronomical data archive focused on the optical, ultraviolet, and near-infrared.
