In May 2016, award winning distributor CMS Distribution acquired Widget Group. CMS Distribution now employ 250 people across seven locations in the UK, Ireland, Sweden and the Netherlands, providing value-added services that support the growth of our customers’ business. With the advent of satellite navigation, the company – renamed Widget UK Ltd in 2000 – became TomTom’s first UK distributor. We followed this by becoming the main European distributor for the Flip Video range, then were first in Europe with Fitbit activity trackers, then added Orbitsound sound bars and LIFX lightbulbs to our exciting portfolio. Today we distribute a tightly focused range of products to Uk and Scandinavian retailers and resellers including Dixons Retail (Currys and PC World in the UK, Elkjøp and Fona in Scandinavia) Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, Maplin, Ideal Shopping Direct, and QVC in the UK, Expert in Norway and Verkkokauppa in Finland. We are distinctive because we are proactive, seeking out imaginative new products and emerging technology trends. But we never forget that we are a service company. We aim to build lasting relationships with our vendor partners and with key retail customers. We strive to deliver much more than excellent logistics, using our extensive channel knowledge to help manufacturers develop effective launch, marketing and merchandising strategies to maximise return on investment throughout the supply chain. Widget UK is an innovative distributor which specialises in selling peripherals which are growing new markets to retailers. It has a track record of introducing new categories and vendors which grow the sales of retailers, rather than being focussed on legacy categories.
