USDA Rural Development is an agency that runs programs dedicated to issues connected with the economy and quality of life in rural areas. It consists of three departments responsible for rural housing, rural utilities, and business-cooperative services. USDA Rural Development offers loans, grants, and loan guarantees to assist in creating jobs and support economic development and services such as housing; health care; first responder services and equipment; and water, electric and communications infrastructure.
