OverviewSuggest Edit

U.S. Silica is a producer of commercial silica used in the oil and gas industry, and in a wide range of industrial applications. The Company's operations are organized into two segments based on end markets served: Oil & Gas Proppants and Industrial & Specialty Products. In its largest end market, oil and gas proppants, the frac sand is used to stimulate and maintain the flow of hydrocarbons in oil and natural gas wells. U.S. Silica produces a wide range of frac sand sizes and are capable of efficient delivery of large quantities of API grade frac sand to most of the major U.S. shale basins via our logistics network. The Company's silica is also used as an economically irreplaceable raw material in a wide range of industrial applications, including glassmaking and chemical manufacturing. Additionally, U.S. Silica markets high-margin, performance silica products, including high-performance glass, specialty coatings, polymer additives and geothermal energy systems. U.S.
