Over the last 50 years – between 1963 and 2013 – Unipol has undergone a lengthy process of growth and consolidation, first as a composite company, then as the parent company of an increasingly multifaceted insurance and banking group and latterly with the devolvement of centralised and coordination functions to Unipol Gruppo Finanziario S.p.A..
