The Hustle started out as a conference called Hustle Con. The idea was to create a less douchey TED-like event, mixed with the vibe of a Black Keys concert, but focused on non-technical founders. One guy said it was like a startup MBA in a day. To make Hustle Con happen, we created lots of funny and educational content to spread the word and get people to come. In the end we sold 600 tickets in 12 weeks without spending money on ads.Since the last event, we’ve raised funding (even though we’re profitable) and are doubling down on content creation. Hustle Con will happen again (it’ll be WAY bigger) but until it does, we’re hiring a badass team of creatives to grow The Hustle, our new site that explores how young people around the world are hustlin’.
