Storj is an open-source, decentralized, cloud storage platform based on the cryptocurrency Bitcoin’s blockchain technology and peer-to-peer protocols. Its network uses its own cryptocurrency, Storjcoin X, while its front-end software supports the use of other digital currencies such as Bitcoin and traditional forms of payment. The Company also encrypts all data, making it impossible to gain access to users’ files without possession of the corresponding private encryption key.
