Splendia was founded in 2004 by Elie de Coignac and Benoît Durand, who met in Marrakesh and shared a passion for e-commerce and luxury travel. Impressed by the traditional riads they found and frustrated by the limited online presence of these hidden gems, they decided to set up a website dedicated to exceptional and distinctive hotels. Now based in Barcelona, Splendia has an international team of 80 people and a portfolio of around 3,000 hotels worldwide.
