The Group is a leading private hospital group in the United Kingdom, with 39 private hospitals and 13 clinics across England, Wales and Scotland. The Group delivered tailored, personalised care to more than 236,000 inpatients and daycase patients in 2013, and is the leading provider by volume of knee and hip operations in the United Kingdom.

The Group traces its roots back to the acquisition and rebranding of 25 Bupa hospitals in 2007. Since then, it has periodically added further hospitals and clinics, including 10 Classic hospitals in 2008 and, most recently, the acquisition of St Anthony’s hospital in Greater London in May 2014. The Group’s successful clinical outcomes are evidenced through strong Care Quality Commission (“CQC”) results, with an essential standards compliance rate of 99.5% compared with a national average of 85.0%.

As of 31 December 2013, the Group employed over 6,900 people (full-time equivalents) nationwide and has more than 3,500 experienced, self-employed consultant surgeons and other specialists with substantive practices at the Group’s facilities.
