OverviewSuggest Edit

ScribeAmerica was established in 2003, while the concept of medical scribe utilization in the industry has been anecdotally reported since the 1970's, ScribeAmerica transformed this cottage operation into a national industry. In 2006, we were the first company to demonstrate that the synergy of the Scribe/MD/EMR model could overcome productivity losses experienced by unassisted physicians using EMR. In 2008, we were the first scribe company providing services on both coasts and the only scribe company present at ACEP, AAOS, and SHM. We credit our success to our generous profit-sharing business model whereby the actual Project Leaders who manage our client's programs are rewarded. By enfranchising our employee base, we ensure limited attrition among management and attract the best talent in the industry to run your program.

Is Precision Medicine the Next Great Frontier?

Genomic-based precision medicine isn’t just a lofty concept. Some patients are already being helped — just as some folks who spend hard-earned wages on lottery tickets are becoming instantly wealthy. Unfortunately, in both cases, the percentage of lucky ones isn’t high enough to warrant a lot of opt…

Happier Physicians, Happier Patients — New Study Says Scribes are the Answer

You can’t watch TV for more than a few minutes, it seems, without seeing one of those direct-to-consumer commercials that urges you to “ask your doctor” about this, or “ask your doctor” about that. Maybe it’s time for a “tell your doctor” commercial. But instead of the obligatory list of...

The Dangers of Ignored Referrals and What You Can Do About Them

Like the proverbial horse that refuses to drink, a significant percentage of patients choose not to follow up on the referrals they’re given by their physicians. And providers typically don’t have the resources to lead patients where they don’t want to go. Who’s to blame for that situation? “It’s re…

Understanding and Overcoming Barriers to Interoperability

Interoperability among U.S. hospitals is improving. Painfully slowly, but it’s improving. A recent data brief from the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology says that in 2017, 40% of U.S. hospitals could engage in what ONC refers to as the four domains of interop…

Can Physicians Be Sold on Value-Based Care?

More and more caregivers say at least a portion of their compensation is tied to value-based care metrics (47%, according to a 2018 survey of nearly 9,000 physicians  — up from 42% in 2016), but they still need some convincing that the transition is a positive one. In fact, when asked to...
