Orell Fuessli engages in banknote and security printing, industrial systems, and book retailing activities. The Company operates in three segments. The Industrial Systems segment produces and markets machinery, installations, and systems for digital and personalized printed products, as well as encoding of banknotes, passports and security documents, plastic cards and packaging, and other supplies. The Security Printing segment produces and markets banknotes, security documents, identity cards, and other documents with high security requirements, as well as provides printing preparation facilities and consulting services for the technical design of security documents. The Book Retailing segment sells books and related products in various bookstores in German-speaking Switzerland, as well as through Internet; and offers services for companies, schools, and libraries.
