The Open Learning Initiative (OLI) at Stanford University is a grant-funded organization that creates free and low-cost online courseware and contributes scholarship to advance the science of learning. Through OLI course offerings, students engage with digital, interactive modules and complete activities that simultaneously support and assess the students’ learning trajectories toward meeting key objectives. Instructors can access predictions about their students’ knowledge modelled from the student interaction data. Instructors can use this information to focus their efforts with individual students, in the classroom, and to improve instruction.
