New York REIT began as New York Recovery REIT, the public, non-traded investment offering dedicated to identifying and unlocking upside value in a commercial real estate market still recuperating from the economic strains of The Great Recession. Where many saw only crisis, the well-capitalized New York REIT team saw an opportunity to drive returns by investing in quality assets at or below replacement cost in order to generate regular, stable returns and provide their shareholders with longer-term capital appreciation opportunities.
