Mission Bit’s program model focuses on designing and running engaging out-of-school computer programming education experiences that are tightly integrated with industry ‘touch points’ and professional advancement opportunities. Mission Bit programs are free for public school students, project based, taught by professional software engineers and tech entrepreneurs, integrated with industry experiences and offer professional advancement opportunities. In Mission Bit classes students learn computer science fundamentals, modern technologies and frameworks, the process of learning to learn what you need to know when you need to know it and become exposed to a range of professional roles and opportunities available to individuals with programming skills. Mission Bit places select students into paid part time employment and paid summer internships with bay area tech companies.
