Founded in 1999 and based in Clermont-Ferrand (France), METabolic EXplorer is a green chemistry company that develops industrial solutions for using a wide range of renewable resources to circumvent the problems associated with burdensome, costly fossil fuel chemistries. Based on the tried and tested principle of industrial-scale fermentation, the bioprocesses developed by METabolic EXplorer use optimized, non-pathogenic micro-organisms in a contained environment. This non-petrochemical technology enables the company to produce important bulk chemicals that are used to make many everyday products such as paints, solvents, renewably sourced plastics, textile fibres, surgical thread and animal feed. METabolic EXplorer's goal is to implement its innovative processes in collaboration with global chemical players.
