Kelly Communications was founded in 1985 by Tim Kelly to target the unique business opportunities in the emerging UK cable television market. Kelly Communications was awarded its first major contract by Croydon Cable which included the very first cable television customer installation on 17th September 1985. This was a landmark achievement and was the stimulus for the remarkable future success of the company. The company’s solid reputation for providing a high quality of service quickly ensured its place as a major force in the business. As a result, it soon won further installation contracts UK wide. These included Windsor Cable, East London Cable, Birmingham Cable, North West Cable and Comment Cable among others. By the early 1990’s, the company’s level of service provision had evolved to include a complete network turnkey, planning, construction and maintenance service for existing and many new clients. This process led to the formulation of the Kelly Group structure in the mid-90’s where individual companies or divisions were established to expand into existing and other utility markets. As a result of the convergence of new and existing communications technologies at the turn of the new millennium, the Industry began offering business and residential customers digital and broadband services. In the early 2000’s, the Group formed Kelly Rail to target the network, signaling and communications opportunities within the UK rail industry. Kelly Rail has grown rapidly and now forms a major part of the Group’s revenue and contract portfolio. In recent years, the Group has successfully integrated into the brewery services industry specializing in onsite installation and support Since that time the Kelly Communications Group has evolved into one of the UK's most successful telecommunications and transportation infrastructure companies. Operating from a national network of over 40 strategically centred bases, we currently engage a workforce of 2700+ personnel. Our fleet of over 1800+ vehicles are efficiently managed and maintained from our state of the art centre in Dunstable. The Kelly Group currently comprises of a number of trading companies including Kelly Communications Ltd., Kelly Integrated Transport Services Ltd (KITS), Kelly Telecoms Ltd and Kelly Plant Ltd. Our current substantial client portfolio includes bluechip companies such as: Virgin Media, Tubelines, British Telecom, Serco, Skanska UK, Siemens, Verizon Business, Inbev, Network Rail, Innserve, Thales and Hughes / Camelot. We are also very proud of our prestigious national awards including the 'City of London Considerate Contractors Gold Award' (Seven years running); our first place Considerate Contractor Award with Westminster City Council together with numerous awards for fleet management. We are also pleased as an ISO registered company of our excellent Health & Safety record, which has also been recognised at national award ceremonies.
