French National Institute for Ocean Science (IFRAMER, Institut français de recherche pour l'exploitation de la mer) is an oceanographic institution that provides monitoring of the marine and coastal environment. It uses sensors and measurement systems to conduct research on marine biodiversity and ecosystems, pollution and contamination, ocean, climate, events, seafood, etc. The institute collects, stores, manages, and shares data for mathematical representations of the ocean. IFRAMER operates the ocean research fleet, underwater systems, and mobile facilities and equipment.
