Gaming Realms was created to develop and launch a new bingo concept based around the increasing adoption of tablet and smartphone devices. Tablet growth is strong but the Desktop is worth offering so Gaming Realms has created a new approach allowing all options to work together. By the end of 2013, Gartner forecasts more than 305 million new desktop and notebook shipments, compared to 201.8 million tablets. In 2014, the race will tighten a bit, with 289.2 million traditional PC shipments versus 276 million tablet shipments. As of June 25th 2013 almost three quarters of UK adult consumers own a smartphone and over half of them are using the device to research and buy goods. Deloitte, commissioned independent research from TNS, involving more than 1,000 adults who were polled during May 2013, and it found 72% owned a smartphone, up from just 58% ten months earlier. 57% used a smartphone to check product availability and 50% used it to buy online. "The exponential rise in UK consumer's reliance on smartphones means mobile must become a priority for e-commerce sites," declared Ian Geddes, head of UK retail at Deloitte.
