Like many great things, Estify began with an accident. A car accident, to be exact. Jordan Furniss, founder and President, needed to have his car repaired, so he began a frustrating day full of shop visits, lengthy waits, and varied estimates. By the end of the day he was tired and annoyed with the process, one that he assumed should be more streamlined in an industry so established. Jordan teamed up with Taylor Moss, founder and CPO, and together they made solving this problem the basis of that semester’s business project.
Being relative newbies in the industry, the would-be problem solvers dove in and began learning. They spent time in shops, shadowed estimators, and heard the pain points straight from the people who needed the changes the most. This research granted them a unique perspective into a problem that many thought could not be solved, and they did it!
