Cotswold Fayre

OverviewSuggest Edit

We are a fine food wholesaler supplying independent retailers with quality fine food and gourmet food products sourced from the best producers from the UK and across the globe. We started as a distribution hub for a few small producers in the Cotswolds. The values we had then, still hold true today. Here at Cotswold Fayre we are dedicated to providing independent retailers with a complete range of top quality ambient food and drink products. The vast majority of our suppliers are drawn from Great Britain and Ireland but we recognise that there are some products that just can’t be produced here. So, rather than limit our portfolio we also stock the finest products from around the world. An increasing number of our brands are exclusively available through Cotswold Fayre to the UK and Ireland. Most of our suppliers are small producers that you won’t find in the major supermarkets. We differ from other wholesalers in that we work in close partnership with our suppliers, many of whom we count as friends, not just suppliers! This means that you, our customers are also ‘close’ to the people making the food and drink you are selling within your shop. Our suppliers are happy to do promotions, provide sample stock and come and do tastings for your customers.

Paul Hargreaves: The Benefits to the Mentor of Mentoring

In 2012 I attended a trade show and was walking the event looking for innovative new food and drink products to add to our company’s portfolio when I became aware that there were very few young food entrepreneurs in the exhibition hall. I decided to do something about it, so in 2013 started our ‘You…

Last weekend we celebrated our 20th birthday, so this week a few reflections from the last 20 years. Paul Hargreaves: Power Balance

Where is the power balance between retailers and suppliers? I don’t often comment on articles in other magazines, but in a week when we have been a victim to a retailer not looking at long-term sustainability, an article in this week’s Grocer caught my eye. The headline is “Planet Organic seeks stoc…

Paul Hargreaves: Why Climate Change is not just an Environmental One

When we think of the Climate Emergency, we perhaps think of changing weather patterns, the polar ice cap melting and animal habitats changing. But the crisis is about more than that. It is about people dying in parts of the world. And generally, those that are suffering and will suffer more are the …

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed transport and logistics experts, Geodis to manage the warehousing and distribution of our ambient portfolio to retail customers throughout the UK and beyond. Paul Hargreaves: Inspiration

I was in a room twice within the last two weeks when everyone has been asked to name someone who has inspired them. It’s a good exercise - why don’t you try it now? And then think about why they inspire you. The first thing to observe is that some people really struggle to name anyone at all. I find…
