BuzzFeed is a media company focused on delivering news and viral content across subject areas. BuzzFeed uses analytical technology to detect what is trending on the web, and connects people in realtime with content of the moment. Jonah Peretti, founder & CEO of BuzzFeed, previously co-founded the Huffington Post. He originally conceived an idea he called the Bored at Work Network ("BWN") - which was the massive network of people, larger than the total audience of TV Networks, who are sitting at a desk, 9-5, bored and looking for a distraction.

As of March 2016, Peretti has stated that mobile is the primary focus of the Company - “Anytime people are bored or have an in-between moment, they look at their phone,” he said. “Social platforms like BuzzFeed are monetising their commercial breaks.” Mobile is the next logical iteration of the BWN.
