The services apse provide include:
Free national and regional group meetings, covering service specific topics,
providing employees of member organisations a forum to share best practice
and liaise with their peers in other Local Authorities.
Member authorities can add as many employees and elected members as they
wish to APSE’s database, allowing them to receive free electronic copies of up
to date information affecting local government. Briefing papers covering wide
ranging topics are then emailed out to individuals who have selected the topic
as an area of interest.
APSE has a database containing over 20,000 local authority contacts who have
declared their area (s) of interest. APSE offers the facility for members to submit
a question / query which is then emailed out to the relevant people on the
nationwide database. This then allows their counterparts in other Local
Authorities the opportunity to respond and share best practice.
APSE has the UK’s largest local government voluntary benchmarking service.
Having over 14 years of front line service data APSE works with almost 200
Local authorities providing performance information; allowing the
opportunity for Authorities to seek savings and efficiency opportunities, whilst
monitoring their performance.
The association has a high level research programme (Awarded an ‘A’ rating
by the ESRC) and delivers independent and commissioned research on issues
and opportunities affecting the local government sector.
We have a unique training offering, providing courses tailored to the
challenges and requirements of public sector employees and elected
members. Courses are delivered in a variety of locations throughout the UK
including higher level Masterclasses, offered to encourage the continued
professional development of senior management. In house bespoke courses
are also offered.
Consultancy and Interim Management
APSE Solutions is APSE’s in-house provider of consultancy and interim
management to local authorities. We support member authorities and nonmember
council service providers with a wide range of consultancy and
interim management solutions. A small internal team is supplemented by a
network of carefully chosen associates to offer a range of expertise and
experience covering all aspects of service delivery.
Seminars and Events
APSE holds a wide selection of seminars throughout the UK attracting high
profile platform speakers mixed with specialist workshops and networking
opportunities. APSE seminars offer opportunities to meet with fellow local
government practitioners, help to develop best practice and offer a forum to
discuss the latest issues and resolutions. Our seminars also attract a wide range
of exhibitors who work within the public realm, providing delegates with an
opportunity to see new products and services.
