William Anelay

The company specialises in the conservation and restoration of listed and historic buildings and the construction of bespoke new build residential and non-residential properties. The company started life in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, building many of the town's most prestigious properties with many, such as the Mansion House, still standing today. In the early 1900s, the company relocated to York, in part due to the friendship between Thomas Anelay VI and architect Walter H Brierley who encouraged the business to take advantage of the building opportunities available to it. It wasn't long before William Anelay began to develop a reputation for quality construction right across Yorkshire and the north of England.
