Whistle Sports, the network for the new generation of millennial sports fans, is providing compelling, quality content to entertain and inspire across multiple social media platforms. Since the formal launch in January 2014, the network has grown to become a community of over 75 million fans, followers and subscribers that features numerous professional athletes, YouTube superstars and Whistle Sports fans. Our owners, investors and content partners include the NFL, PGA Tour, Major League Baseball, the CFL, Major League Lacrosse, AVP (pro volleyball), and the Harlem Globetrotters, among others.
Our leadership at Whistle Sports includes CEO and founder John West, a successful entrepreneur who has started, grown and sold two companies; co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer Jeff Urban, former SVP of Sports Marketing at Gatorade; EVP-External Brian Selander who built a management consulting company and served as CSO to a Governor; EVP-Finance and Ops Michael Cohen, a former investment banker and corporate strategist; and our head of digital Julie Kikla, a founding member of the YouTube Sports team. This year, Sports Business Journal nominated Whistle Sports for the Best in Digital Sports Media award, up against names like ESPN Digital Media and Turner Sports. Fast Company also named the Whistle Sports Network as one of the world’s 10 most innovative video companies this year.
