AMC Networks operates several brands on television, delivering content to audiences and a platform to distributors and advertisers. The Company manages its business through the following two operating segments: National Networks and International and Other. National Networks segment includes activities of the programming businesses, which include several programming networks, distributed in the U.S. and Canada. These programming networks are AMC, WE tv, BBC AMERICA, IFC, and SundanceTV in the U.S.; and AMC, IFC and Sundance Channel in Canada. The National Networks operating segment also includes AMC Networks Broadcasting & Technology, the technical services business, which primarily services most of the programming networks included in the National Networks segment. International and Other segment principally includes AMC Networks International, the Company’s international programming businesses consisting of a portfolio of channels in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and parts of Asia and Africa; IFC Films, the Company’s independent film distribution business; AMCNI- DMC, the broadcast solutions unit of certain networks of AMCNI and third-party networks, and various developing online content distribution initiatives.
