The People's Operator (TPO) is a cause-based commercial mobile virtual network operator with a strategy of acquiring customers through viral networking and online communities.
TPO was founded in the UK in 2012 and is head quartered just off Silicon Roundabout in London’s Tech City. The company currently delivers both Prepaid and Postpaid mobile services with national mobile coverage of 99% of the population, supported 7 days a week by an in-house customer services team. In Q4 2014 TPO listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange and announced its intention to launch as a mobile virtual network operator on the Sprint network in the USA in 2015.
TPO’s core proposition allows users to direct 10% of their monthly bill to a cause they choose, at no cost to themselves. In the UK The TPO Foundation, a UK registered charity, will receive 25% of TPO's UK trading profits.
TPO has and will continue to develop partnerships with community organisations and causes. Under the direction of Jimmy Wales, the founder of the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, the Company is also developing an online viral community to expand the global network of mobile phone customers who share the common belief of supporting causes.
