Go-Ahead Group

Go-Ahead is one of the UK's leading public transport providers. Since our foundation in the 1980s, we have transformed from a small bus operator in north-east England to an organisation providing more than a billion journeys each year on our UK bus and rail services. The Group listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1994 and is included in the FTSE 250. We are the largest passenger rail provider in the UK, carrying over 30% of train services and carrying more commuters into London every weekday than any other national rail operator. We are also the largest operator of bus services in London, running around a quarter of London's buses. Our commitment to our customers and our people is central to everything we do. We employ 26,000 people in the UK who work hard to deliver safe, reliable and value-for-money services for our passengers. Operating in a sustainable and environmentally responsible way is important to us. Our approach We have a devolved approach to the management of our bus and train operating companies. They are run autonomously, are locally-branded, and the management teams are empowered to respond directly to the needs of the local communities they serve. Working in this way ensures we retain strong local expertise and can focus on the needs of customers and adapt quickly to changing conditions in local markets.
